My 1st Official 4th of July off with a BANG!
Ok, so I never understood America's obsession with fireworks. In Canada, the extent of my experience with gun powder was caps: those little strips that you made pop with a penny. This one kid growing up had a firecraker that went off in his hand, which turned us all off from that point off. Now we played with our shared of used diesel fuel and oil, making things burst into flames, and watching the fireworks display on Canada Day. But nothing has come close to last night.
The Willards invited us to their place to celebrate Independence day. For the 1st hour, Eric W. & Glenn Goodwin played with fireworks (two grown men nonetheless). I sat back and watched, not really interested in participating, but enjoying watching them have fun like to kids with a new toy. After an hour, Eric invited me to grab some from his stash. So I grabbed some bottle rockets. Nothing big, but I lit those off for over and hour. We lauged and played like 5 year olds.
Then they took out the big one.
Now I've seen movies where they use dynamite to blow up stuff, and I've heard stories. So when Glenn handed my a 1/4 stick of dynamite, I wasn't worried. I've seen them take 40 sticks, tie them together and it makes a sizeable explosion, so I figured what could a 1/4 stick possibly do. Now Glenn said "light it and get out of there." So I set it out in the middle of the road, lit the fuse, and once the fuse started going, fear gripped me and I booked it at least 20 years away.
That thing shook the ground, and with it's shockwave, I was hooked.
I am now beginning planning on next year, and what we can blow up. I think I'm going to enjou the US.

Glad to hear that you are having fun blowing stuff up!! Welcome to America where we blow stuff up!! Sounds about right eh? Dude when are you comin out to San Diego? There is a whole world of sin out here just waiting for the roach!!! Still looking for a church..went to THE ROCK and Kaleo..still trying to find one that closely resembles Watermark...probably never find it..yet I continue to be the church and make disciples. There are so many churches out here..pick a denomination...any denomination. What> a caucasian evangelistic protestant lutheran bible study? Corner of fourth and evans at 4 on Tuesdays! Yeah it's like that. Miss you dude...

I may or may not recommend a trip down to Indiana to get some of their fun wireworks. Of course, by "fun" I mean "illegal." Maybe breaking the law isn't such a good idea. Just go to IN and use them while you're there. It will become an annual vacation.
Regarding Erskine's comment I daresay come to Indidna anyway, you've been to my house.
Isn't it funny how we men are obsessed with fire and things that affect fire. One time My cousin and I discovered the effects of Methyl Hydrate (essentially Gasline antifreeze) with fire. It burns blue! How novel! Bringing a flame near the so perceived empty bottle we discovered how to cause a plastic jug to go off with a bang.
By the way, are you in misery? I mean Missouri, man, my pronunciation (or spelling) is off. Cause Labor day weekend we're going to Kansas City!
